ACTIVITIES OF THIS CORPORATION:-

(i) Supply of made tea through PDS: - 

The Corporation started the distribution of Made Tea in the Ration shop under PDS in the year 2019 at the Agartala Municiapal Corporaiton area as pilot basis and presently the same is being distributed almost all the district in the state and last year approx 3.00 Lakh Kgs (three lakh) made tea has been distribution in the ration shop in the state through PDS.

(ii) Sale of Made Tea:- 

• Kolkata Auction centre and Guwahati Auction Centre.

• Local Market through our sales counter

• PDS through the FP Shop through the state. 

(iii) Providing Technical support to the Small Tea Growers.

CONSTRAINS AND OPPORTUNITIES:-

• Constrains:- 

• Shortage of workers.

• Low productivity of the workers.

• Non-traditional workers at Kamalasagar and Machmara Tea estates.6

• Rising cost of raw material and other inputs/ Coal /non-availability of fertilizer.

• Volatile price of Tea in the Auction Market.

• High over-head expenditure being a Govt. Company.

• High transportation cost for carrying of made tea to the Auction market. 

• In adequate irrigation facilities.

• High cost of electricity (Rs.7.20 per unit).
• Opportunities :- 

• Availability of Land.

• Favourable climate.

• Scope of infilling.

• Small Tea Growers support.

• Scopes of quality and quantity improvement of made tea.
